FORT HANCOCK WALKING TOUR

Tour Stop 38: Baseball Field

Tour Stop #38 on the walking tour of Fort Hancock is located near the Parade Ground and tells the story of the time the Fort Hancock baseball team played the New York Yankees on April 5, 1943, during World War II. The Yankees won 7-2. Though I didn’t get a photo, the backstop is the original backstop used during the game.
