Tour Stop 14: Mule Barn

Building Number 36
Construction Date: 1899

Construction on Fort Hancock began in the early 1890s, a time when the main method of transportation was horses and mules. Once automobile use became feasible for military operations, the barn was converted into a barracks, and later a service club. The building has been renovated and is currently the Mule Barn Tavern.
