Picnic area at Oxon Cove Park
A small picnic area is located next to the Oxon Hill Farm parking lot. There are no grills, and all tables are taken on a first come, first served basis—no reservations are accepted. This is not a place where you would hold a family reunion or corporate outing, but a place where those visiting the farm can have a picnic. It is particularly popular with school and other groups of children who visit the farm. When I visited, a small group was having a children’s birthday party, which works well in conjunction with a visit to the farm, but it was a weekday and they arrived early enough to get the tables. I wouldn’t count on such luck during the school season or on a weekend.
