CORINTH CIVIL WAR DRIVING TOUR STOP 12
The Fish Pond House is located at 708 Kilpatrick Street. It was built in 1856 and gets its name from a thermal water tank that was on the roof. This reminded passersby of a fish tank. If you want to stop for a photo or to read the information panel in front of the house, park on the street.
At different times, the Fish Pond House was the headquarters of Confederate generals John Breckenridge and Pierre G. T. Beauregard while they were in Corinth. Breckinridge was originally at the Duncan House, but he moved here after the Battle of Shiloh.
