Corrected trail map for the Blue Mountain Lake area of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (click to enlarge)
The Blue Mountain Lake region of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is located on the New Jersey side of the park a few miles south of Walpack Center. There are trailheads on the northeastern side at Crater Lake and at the southern end of Blue Mountain Lake. Trails in this area consist of the Inner and Outer Blue Mountain Lake trails, Crater Lake Trail, and the Hemlock Pond Trail. Hikers can access the first three directly from the parking lots. The Hemlock Pond Trail is reached by hiking partway on one of the other trails. I hiked it as part of a loop with the Crater Lake Trail (a distance of 3.5 miles), but it can also be hiked along with the Outer Blue Mountain Lake Trail.
