Cape Point to Ocracoke Island Atlantic Ocean Beaches
Ocracoke Beach at Cape Hatteras National Seashore is the main public beach on Ocracoke Island, complete with restrooms, changing rooms, and showers. A boardwalk leads from the large parking lot to the beach, a walk of approximately 150 yards. This is a family-friendly beach because no vehicles are allowed on the beach from April 15th through October 14th and lifeguards are on duty every day from Memorial Day through Labor Day, 9 AM to 5 PM. This is my suggestion for a beach on Ocracoke due to the bathhouse, and you can always walk farther from the main area if you want to get away from the crowd. Other than the bathhouse, the quality of the beach is the same all up and down the island’s coast.
