The Wayside, home of Nathaniel Hawthorne, at Minute Man National Historical Park

Minute Man National Historical Park has one of the largest, if not the largest, collection of historical homes within the National Park system. However, very few are actually open to the public. Currently, only the Hartwell Tavern is open on a regular basis. The Wayside, Captain William Smith House, Colonel James Barnett House, Nathan Meriam House, and Jacob Whittemore House are open a few times a year for special events.

See the following web pages here on National Park Planner for more information about the houses.

The Old Manse and the Robbins House are also located within the North Bridge Unit, but they are owned and managed by other organizations, not the National Park Service. Therefore, I did not visit or review these houses.
