Like Fort Washington Park’s Group Picnic Area A, C is a single site, not one that is subdivided. It also has its own restroom. It is located down the second side road off of the main picnic area road. If you have a large group and want privacy, this and Group Picnic Area A are the two best spots to choose from. The area has plenty of shade trees, but there is not a lot of open space for field games as there is at Picnic Area A.
A basketball court is located nearby, though the court can be used by anyone at Fort Washington Park. Picnic Area C is also adjacent to Battery Emory, and while not a playground nor the safest form of entertainment, older kids will have fun exploring it.

Group picnic areas are available from mid-April through the end of October and can be reserved up to one year in advance at Recreation.gov. A reservation is from 9 AM to sunset. Fees are typically $75 to $150, depending on the size of the picnic area you choose. Current fees are listed on Recreation.gov.
