Fishing at Fort Washington Park

Fishing is allowed anywhere along the Potomac River at Fort Washington Park, though in reality the only accessible location is next to Light 80, the park’s lighthouse, and perhaps a short stretch of shoreline north from the lighthouse. The entire southern coast is cliffs clad in thick forest. No special license or permit is needed from the National Park Service, but a Maryland Tidal Sport Fishing License is required, and Maryland fishing laws apply.

Shellfishing is not allowed.
