GENERAL INFORMATION
Camp Round Meadow is one of two overnight-stay facilities at Catoctin Mountain Park that is available for rent by groups only, the other being Camp Greentop. The group renting the complex has exclusive use of the facilities. Individuals, families, and groups of friends that would like to rent a cabin can do so at Camp Misty Mount.
CAMPING SEASON
Camp Round Meadow is typically open from mid-February through the end of October. However, dates change each year, so be sure to get the latest schedule on the reservation website, Recreation.gov.
ACCOMODATIONS
There are four dormitories that can accommodate up to 30 people each. The camp also has a commercial kitchen, dining hall, gymnasium with basketball court, classrooms, conference room, picnic area, and gazebo.
Groups using the kitchen are requested to have a certified food handler on duty.
There is parking for 135 vehicles, but the parking lot is not exclusively for those staying at Camp Round Meadow. RVs and trailers are not allowed.
AMENITIES
While cots with mattresses are provided, guests must bring their own bedding (or sleeping bags) and towels. The group must also bring its own cleaning supplies.
All dormitories have electricity, heating, and modern bathrooms with hot showers. They do not have air conditioning.
The kitchen, dining hall, and gymnasium have both heating and air conditioning.
The gymnasium can be used for purposes other than recreation, such as a place to host large meetings or dances, but depending on the activity, floor covering may be required. There is a charge for installation and removal of the covering. For smaller group meetings, the conference room is 765 square feet and can accommodate 51 people.
There is no Internet service or Wi-Fi available. Cellular towers in Catoctin Mountain Park are serviced by Verizon and AT&T. You may not get cell service with other carriers.
A fire pit is available. Fire wood is included in the rental price.
FEES AND RESERVATIONS
Reservations are required to stay at Camp Round Meadow—walk-ups are not allowed. You can make a reservation up to a year in advance online at Recreation.gov or by calling (877) 444-6777 between 10 AM and 12 AM EST.
At the time of this writing, rental rates are $600 / night on Sundays through Thursdays and $1000 / night on Fridays and Saturdays. Current rates are given on Recreation.gov.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Check-in time is 3 PM. Check-out time is 12 PM.
- A permit is required to serve alcohol.
- No smoking or pets (other than service animals) are allowed in the cabins.
- Guests must clean the facility before leaving.
