Assateague Island National Seashore has two visitor centers, one located in Maryland just before crossing the Hwy 611 bridge to the island and one located at the very southern end of the island in Virginia, the Toms Cove Visitor Center. Park information can be obtained at either, but the main facility is the one in Maryland, the Assateague Island Visitor Center. Here you will find a large exhibit area that covers the natural and human history of the island and a film about the wild horses of Assateague.
