Minnesota Monument at the DeLong Reservation on Missionary Ridge in the Chattanooga Unit of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park

The DeLong Reservation on Missionary Ridge in the Chattanooga Unit of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park commemorates the Minnesota troops who stormed up the ridge and drove the Confederates back to Georgia. A monument to the 2nd Minnesota Infantry, artillery, and tablets mark the spot, including two tablets that detail the casualties of the battle. Roadside parking is available.
According to a Park Ranger, the name of the reservation came from the landowner. I assume he agreed to allow the monuments on his property if the park named the reservation after him, but this is just speculation.
