The YCC Loop Trail is located in the Wildlife Management Area of Little River Canyon National Preserve (the area north of Little River Falls). The trail consists of segments of Road 10 and Road 5 and an abandoned section of road that connects the two together. I did not hike the YCC Loop Trail, but I suspect that the connector segment no longer exists or is extremely overgrown. I drove out and back on Road 5 and never saw anything that resembled a trailhead in the area where the map shows the connector should be. Before attempting to hike it, ask a Ranger at the Little River Canyon Center about the trail’s current condition.
YCC stands for Youth Conservation Corps. This organization provides paying summer jobs for those 15 to 18 years old that entail working in select National Parks helping to maintain and build trails, remove evasive species of plants, help preserve historic buildings, repair campsites, etc. Visit the YCC web page for more information.
