Anacostia Park offers two options for those interested in non-sports exercise. There is an indoor gym run by the D. C. Parks and Recreation that is part of the swimming pool facility. See the DRP Fitness Center website for operating hours (scroll to the bottom for Ward 8 Fitness centers).

Outdoor fitness equipment surrounds the Pirate Playground (park on Nicholson Street just after entering the park). Included is a combo press and pull, pull-up and dip station, sit-up board, seated lat pull, exercise bikes, air strider, squat press, rowing machine, horizontal ladder, accessible multi-gym, push-up bars, horizontal bars, and elliptical cross trainer. Your kids can play while you work out.
