Horse Trail Map

Horseback riding is allowed on the Cowpens National Battlefield loop road, along the 2-mile Cowpens Nature Trail, and along the Green River Road, a gravel road that runs through the center of the battlefield. When on the nature trail, stay off the bridges. Look for the designated horse crossing areas.

Parking for vehicles with horse trailers is not allowed within the park gates, but such vehicles can park at the Trailhead Parking Lot on the east side of the park near the intersection of SC Highway 11 and Hayes Road and along the battlefield access road next to the New Pleasant Church cemetery off of New Pleasant Road. If entering from the cemetery at New Pleasant Church, follow the fire road (mowed grass road) to the Cowpens Nature Trail. If entering from the Trailhead Parking Lot, please use the shoulder of the paved trail to access the Green River Road.
