Roger Williams National Memorial Visitor Center

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Roger Williams National Memorial Visitor Center is located at 282 North Main Street in Providence, Rhode Island. It occupies the restored Antram-Grey House, which dates back to the 1730s. A parking lot is on the opposite side of the block near the corner of Smith and Canal streets. There is a two hour parking limit, which is more than enough time to see the park.

OPERATING HOURS

The Visitor Center is open from 10 AM to 4 PM on Thursdays through Sundays beginning in May and continuing until the end of November, and on Wednesdays through Saturdays the rest of the year (same hours). It is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Keep in mind that times can always change, so be sure to get the latest schedule on the National Park Service’s Operating Hours and Seasons web page for Roger Williams National Memorial.

EXHIBIT AREA

Not a lot is known about Roger Williams, which is evidenced by the very small exhibit area dedicated to him. Furthermore, there are no physical artifacts from his life or that have any connection to his life, so the exhibits are comprised entirely of information panels and one interactive video. One wall of panels covers Williams’s life and another the modern issues concerning the separation of church and state.
