GENERAL INFORMATION
The Roger Williams National Memorial Visitor Center is located at 282 North Main Street in Providence, Rhode Island. It occupies the restored Antram-Grey House, which dates back to the 1730s. A parking lot is on the opposite side of the block near the corner of Smith and Canal streets. There is a two hour parking limit, which is more than enough time to see the park.
OPERATING HOURS
The Visitor Center is open from 10 AM to 4 PM on Thursdays through Sundays beginning in May and continuing until the end of November, and on Wednesdays through Saturdays the rest of the year (same hours). It is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Keep in mind that times can always change, so be sure to get the latest schedule on the National Park Service’s Operating Hours and Seasons web page for Roger Williams National Memorial.

PARK FILM
A 5-minute film about Roger Williams is shown on a small HDTV. There is no objectionable material, so it is suitable for all ages.
EXHIBIT AREA
Not a lot is known about Roger Williams, which is evidenced by the very small exhibit area dedicated to him. Furthermore, there are no physical artifacts from his life or that have any connection to his life, so the exhibits are comprised entirely of information panels and one interactive video. One wall of panels covers Williams’s life and another the modern issues concerning the separation of church and state.
SCHEDULING YOUR TIME
You can read through all of the information and play with the interactive exhibit in fifteen minutes. Add time to see the park film and perhaps speak with a Ranger, and you’ll be in and out of the Roger Williams National Memorial Visitor Center within a half hour.
With a few exceptions, use of any photograph on the National Park Planner website requires a paid Royalty Free Editorial Use License or Commercial Use License. See the Photo Usage page for details.
