The George State Memorial at Gettysburg National Military Park was dedicated in 1961 during the 100th anniversary of the Civil War. As is the case with many of the Southern state monuments, not much effort went into it It is a granite column rising 15.5 feet with the seal of Georgia and an inscription engraved in it.
