State Memorial Map

The Florida State Memorial at Gettysburg National Military Park was dedicated in 1963. It is situated where the three regiments from Florida that fought at Gettysburg were positioned on July 2 and 3, 1863. Florida troops participated in the attack on Cemetery Ridge near the Codori Farm on July 2nd and Pickett’s Charge on the 3rd. While Florida had the least amount of men (740) of any Confederate state at Gettysburg, it had the highest casualty rate of any state, north or south, in the battle—62 percent killed, wounded, or captured.
