There is a small picnic area with a half dozen picnic tables—no grills—at Natchez National Historical park located on the grounds of the Melrose mansion near the parking area and carriage house. All tables are taken on a first come, first served basis.

There are also six tables at Fort Rosalie Park in downtown Natchez. This is the site of the original fort built by the French in 1716 that essentially established the town of Natchez. Other than picnic tables and a few information panels that tell the history of the fort, there is nothing on the property.
