There is no Visitor Center at Greenbelt Park, but there is a Ranger Station at the Greenbelt Park Campground where you can pick up a park brochure and other information. The right side of the building is an office, while the left side, which is no bigger than a bedroom, is where you will find the Ranger desk, a rack of brochures, flyers, and other information, and a small, taxidermic display of animals that live in the park. The Ranger Station is open daily from 8 AM to 3:45 PM, except when closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
There is also a Park Headquarters building near the entrance to Greenbelt Park where you can ask questions and get maps and brochures, the same things you can get at the Ranger Station. There are no exhibits, as it is basically an office. The waiting area is so small that two people cannot fit at once. The person in front of me had to leave before I could get in to ask my questions. There are a couple of guest parking spaces along the road that leads to the building. If these are taken, just park in the Employee spaces. You won’t be inside long enough to be a bother. The Park Headquarters is open daily from 8 AM to 3:45 PM year-round.
