Glen Echo Park Historical Buildings
Cuddle Up, built in 1946, was the name of a tea cup ride at Glen Echo Park. A tea cup ride is one where you sit in a cup and turn a wheel to spin the cup round and round as it travels round and round on the floor. In other words, it is a ride designed to make you dizzy. Today it is just a fancy covered pavilion similar to the Bumper Car pavilion, though not as large. There is a stage for performances, and sometimes art classes are held here when the weather is nice. It is also available for rental, but only if the Bumper Car Pavilion is not already rented (I assume the park does not want two outdoor events being held at the same time). For more information, see Glen Echo Park’s Private Rentals web page.
