There are parking lots along Park Central Road in Catoctin Mountain Park where visitors can pick up various hiking trails. Many of these have picnic tables, including the parking lot for those looking to hike to Hog Rock. Here you will find five tables—no grills—in a shaded area. This is not a place where you would hold any type of group picnic, just a place to have a bite to eat before or after hiking some of the trails in the park. Besides, all tables are taken on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved.
There is a fancy outhouse—pit toilet in a permanent building—in the parking lot.
