EXHIBITS
The entire section of the Visitor Center building that is open to the public is not much bigger than a typical waiting room in a doctor’s office, so there are not a lot of exhibits. On the wall are information panels about the French exploration of the area and the Passamaquoddy Indians. There are also some castings of petroglyphs that were found near the shore. The actual petroglyphs are underwater at high tide.

SCHEDULING YOUR TIME
You can read the information panels and take a look at the artifacts in ten minutes. Rangers typically give a short lecture about the history of Saint Croix Island that also takes about ten minutes, though in a one-on-one situation you may end up talking for much longer. Thus, plan to spend up to a half hour at the Visitor Center before walking down to the river to see the island.
