Guided tours of the Magnolia and Oakland plantation grounds and outbuildings are given on Wednesdays through Sundays: 9 AM at Oakland and 2:30 PM at Magnolia. Tours last about an hour. There is no need to sign up in advance; just be at the tour meeting place at the appropriate time. At Oakland Plantation, meet at the visitor pavilion near the parking lot. At Magnolia Plantation, meet at the Plantation Store.
The Oakland Plantation tour does not include entry into the Main House. Visitors can do this on their own from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. A Ranger or park volunteer will be inside to answer any questions. The Main House at Magnolia Plantation is still privately owned and is not part of Cane River Creole National Historical Park at this time.
Keep in mind that times can always change, so before heading to the park be sure to get the latest schedule on the National Park Service’s official Guided Tours web page for Cane River Creole National Historical Park.
With a few exceptions, use of any photograph on the National Park Planner website requires a paid Royalty Free Editorial Use License or Commercial Use License. See the Photo Usage page for details.
