The Carter Store is located next to the Carter Farmhouse at the Jimmy Carter Boyhood Farm at Jimmy Carter National Historical Park. This was where the people of Archery purchased supplies, often on credit backed by the coming harvest. Archery residents, mostly black sharecroppers, shopped here because they could not get credit at the stores in Plains.

Saturday was the busiest day at the store, but people dropped by at all times of the week to purchase items. Jimmy recalls never getting through dinner without somebody coming by; his dad always made him get up from the table to help the customer. Today the store is outfitted with typical goods sold at the time.
