TYPE
The Milford Beach Boat Ramp can accommodate trailer-launched and hand-launched watercraft. Motorized boats must have a valid state registration.
LOCATION
The Milford Beach Boat Ramp is located on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River at the very northern end of the park. If using Google Maps for directions, search “Milford Beach Milford PA.”
FEES
Fees are collected for parking at Milford Beach from mid-April through early October. There is no specific fee to use the boat ramp, so you can get dropped off to launch your boat or picked up at the end of your day on the river for free as long as the vehicle transporting you does not park at the facility.
Season passes are available specifically for Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Fees are not covered by the annual National Park Pass, but Senior, Military, Access, Golden Age, and Golden Access pass holders do get a 50% discount. Get the latest fees on the National Park Service’s official Fees and Passes web page for the park.
Those without a season pass can pay at the beach for the day they use the facilities. At Milford Beach, there is a fee station that is staffed when enough employees show up for work. When staffed, only credit / debit cards are accepted. If nobody is manning the station, only cash or checks are accepted. Since there is no way to know ahead of time what the situation will be, do not head to the beach without a check or the proper amount of cash unless you have a season pass.
When paying with cash or check, use the collection box. To do so, fill out the pay envelope (be sure you have a pen) and place your payment inside. Tear off the receipt, then drop the envelope into the box. Place the receipt on your car dashboard. If using cash, know the fees ahead of time and bring the appropriate bills because there is no way to get change.
BOAT RAMP DETAILS
The Milford Beach Boat Ramp is a concrete ramp used to launch both motorboats and hand-paddled watercraft. If vehicles with trailer-launched motorboats are lined up to use the ramp, those with hand-launched watercraft can use the dirt canoe launch 75 yards away to the south (downriver).
There is a large parking lot next to the ramp with room for 20 vehicles with boat trailers.
Modern restrooms that are open during the fee season are located at the main swimming area of Milford Beach. There is a fancy outhouse right next to the boat ramp that is open all year long. A fancy outhouse is what Jed Clampett would call a portable toilet in a permanent building.
