A beautiful picnic area is located on the northern end of Roger Williams National Memorial near the Visitor Center. There are a dozen tables, and all are made from recycled plastic, so no splinters in your butt. There are no grills, and the tables are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, so this isn’t really a place for hosting a group event. It is, however, an excellent place to sit and relax or have a bite to eat if you are in the neighborhood or have stopped by to see the Memorial. Restrooms are located in the Visitor Center.
If you walk farther south, there is an open field where you are welcome to picnic on a blanket. During the summer, the National Park Service uses the field for free concerts and other performances.
