Ranger conducts a tour of the Mission San José grounds, San Antonio Missions National Historical Park
National Park Service Rangers conduct free, 45-minute tours and demonstrations at the various missions within San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. There is no need to register, so just show up at the mission a little before tour time. Most of the tours are of the grounds only and do not enter the mission buildings. However, everyone is welcome to explore the grounds and the interiors of the missions on their own anytime during standard operating hours.
A grounds tour of Mission San José is held every day at 10 AM and 11 AM. Meet outside the Visitor Center at tour time.
A tour of the Mission Concepción grounds is conducted daily from April through September at 10 AM.
A tour of the Mission San Juan Capistrano grounds is conducted daily from April through September at 10 AM.
A looming demonstration is held every day at Mission Espada at 3 PM from April through the end of September. This is held inside the mission, but it is not a mission tour.
Rancho de las Cabras in Floresville, Texas, is also part of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, and the only way to see it is on a guided tour. These are typically given once a month from October through March. Dates are posted on the National Park Service’s Calendar web page for the park. The tour last two hours. There are only twenty spots available, and reservations are required. Please email saan_interpretation@nps.gov and include your name, email address, phone number, and the number of people in your group. If there is room, you’ll get an email back with details of when and where to meet.
