The Blacksmith Shop at Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site was built around 1775, making it one of the oldest buildings in the park. When Hopewell Furnace was in operation, aside from the furnace itself, this was the busiest building in the complex. The blacksmith made all metal products required at the furnace and repaired any metal products that broke, including parts of the furnace itself.
