The house referred to as the Second Robbins House on Main Street in Walpack Center was built around 1950. I couldn’t find any information about the origin of the house, but based on the name and the fact that it is the newest house in Walpack Center, most likely it was built by a member of the Robbins Family. The First Robbins House (aka Losey-Robbins House), on the other hand, was built in the mid-1800s by John Losey and purchased by a member of the Robbins Family many years later. In both cases, Robbins were living in the houses when they were sold to the United States government in 1974 to make way for the lake that was to be created once the Tocks Island Dam was completed. The project was abandoned in 1975, and all the land and buildings that remained standing that the government had purchased became part of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
The Robbins House is currently used to house park employees.
