BOAT RAMP DETAILS

The Eshback Access Boat Ramp is a natural launch area along the shore of the Delaware River. It has a dirt ramp that is a little rough and washed out, but vehicles with trailers can still back down it to launch a motorboat. Those with hand-launched watercraft can drive down to the shore and unload their gear instead of having to lug it from the parking lot.

The dirt parking lot can only hold a half dozen or so vehicles. There is room for those with boat trailers, but not very many. Overall, the ramp is more suited for launching canoes and kayaks. Those with motorboats on trailers are much better off launching at Dingmans Ferry even though there is a fee for parking at that location during the summer.

If you are paddling down the Delaware River and plan to either take out or stop at Eshback, the only landmark to tip you off that it is approaching is a small island a quarter mile upriver. Other than that, just be on the lookout for a large clearing along the shore.
