There are nine picnic tables (no grills) outside the Fort Union National Monument Visitor Center. The tables are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. They are all made of recycled plastic and are in decent condition, with a few appearing to be newer than others. Restrooms are available inside the Visitor Center from 8 AM to 4 PM.
On the right side of the Visitor Center, three tables sit on a concrete pad underneath a pavilion. Four additional tables are located between the pavilion and the parking lot.
There are two handicap accessible tables on a concrete pad to the left of the Visitor Center. Shade trees surrounding the tables provide some relief from the sun, depending on the time of day.
