While the Piscataway Park brochure map shows a canoe launch at the end of the Marsh Boardwalk Trail at Mockley Point, I walked the trail and saw no designated launch site. Yes, there is a clearing at the end of the trail, but there are clearings at many places along the shore, and any of these could serve the purpose of a canoe launch. And since the clearing is located at the end of a 1.2-mile trail, I don’t see anyone lugging a canoe or kayak that far just to launch a trip onto the Potomac when there are three other easily accessible ramps within the park. Therefore, I’d call this a landing for those who want to take a break from a river trip, not a launch.
