There are three picnic areas at the Poverty Point National Monument Visitor Center. All tables are taken on a first come, first served basis. There are no grills at any of the three locations.

A covered pavilion with six picnic tables is located right next to the Visitor Center building.

A paved path from the Visitor Center leads to a second set of tables in a shaded area by the vehicle tour road. There are seven picnic tables at this location.

A third picnic area with five more tables is located behind the Archaeology Lab building, which is next to the Visitor Center parking lot. If you are doing the Walking Tour of Poverty Point, the trail passes right by it.
