DRIVING TOUR STOP 8

Northwest Ridges

Stop 8 on the Poverty Point National Monument driving tour is at the ridges on the northwest side of the ridge complex. From the road you can see that these ridges are still a couple feet tall, much more pronounced than the ridges on the south end of the park. Even so, had these elevated areas not been pointed out as man-made structures, nobody would peg them as anything other than natural dips and rises.
