Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park holds Historical Weapons Firing Demonstrations in the field in front of the Visitor Center on select weekends from April through October. Some events are held on both Saturday and Sunday, others on just one weekend day. For a schedule, check the National Park Service’s official Calendar web page for the park.

For these demonstrations, the park brings in Civil War reenactors from around the country, both Union and Confederate, who will demonstrate Civil War military drilling and weapons firing. They talk about various topics such as soldier life, uniforms, and weapons. Actual cannon and muskets or rifles will be fired (without projectiles, of course). The battle itself is never reenacted at the park, for no reenactments of actual fighting are allowed at any National Parks.
