Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park preserves a two-block area of Auburn Avenue in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, that was significant in the life of Martin Luther King Jr. The park includes the home in which he was born, Ebenezer Baptist Church where he was baptized and later became co-pastor until his death in 1968, the King Center and the tomb of King and his wife Coretta, and Fire Station No. 6, the fire station that served King’s Auburn Avenue neighborhood from 1894 until 1991. All are open to the public, though the King birth home can only be seen on a guided tour.
