BOAT RAMP DETAILS

The Wy-Hit-Tuk Park canoe launch is located across the tow path from the footbridge next to the parking lot that spans the Delaware Canal. This is a very steep and narrow path down to the river, and calling it a canoe launch is like calling any spot you can get down to the water a canoe launch. It is certainly not very convenient, and is no place that I would personally want to start or end a trip on the Lower Delaware National Wild and Scenic River.

When traveling down the Delaware River, the Wy-Hit-Tuk Park canoe launch is about .3 mile from the I-78 Bridge. There is an island just past the bridge, and the canoe launch is prior to it on the Pennsylvania (right) side of the river. There are rapids as soon as you get to the island, so if you miss the launch and end up in the rapids where the current is much stronger, you’ll have a hard time paddling back up river. It is a difficult launch to spot if you don’t know where it is.
