Governor’s Waiting Room in the Massachusetts State House

MASSACHUSETTS STATE HOUSE TOUR STOP 8
GOVERNOR’S WAITING ROOM

The last stop on a tour of the Massachusetts State House is the Governor’s Waiting Room, which is across the hall from the Senate Chamber in the original part of the building designed by Charles Bulfinch. The room is decorated to look like it might have in the 1890s. Portraits of the most recent governors of Massachusetts hang on the walls. Every governor, even the Royal Governors, have a portrait hanging somewhere in the State House.

When finished with the tour, proceed back down the Grand Staircase to Doric Hall and exit the same way you came in.
