A picnic area and restrooms at the Bowmans Island Unit of Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area are located at Lower Pool West Park (see Directions and Parking). The picnic area is at the very end of the road that leads into the park. There are three covered tables, each with its own grill, and plenty of grounds for kids to run around. A boat ramp is located next to the picnic area.

There is a fee to enter the park, and though the road and the parking lot are owned by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, annual National Park and Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area passes are valid for entry. If you don’t have a pass, you must pay the standard entrance fee, which is currently $5. There is a credit card machine at the entrance. If paying in cash, you won’t be able to get change, so bring the exact amount.
