Length: 3 miles
Time: 1 to 1.5 hours

Everything that can be said about the Abbotts Bridge to Medlock Bridge stretch of the Chattahoochee River can be said about the Medlock Bridge to Jones Bridge trek—calm, slow, plenty of tubers, abundant wildlife, and urbanization (though not quite as much). There’s not much excitement, but it is a good place for exercise if you live in the area. For those without a second car to park at one end of the journey, the current can be quite slow, so it often possible to paddle up- or downstream from Medlock Bridge or upstream from Jones Bridge and return back to your starting point.

A more worthwhile trip would be to start at Jones Bridge and head south. This has a decent amount of turbulent water and a lack of urbanization. It’s better to be putting in at Jones Bridge and heading downstream than taking out at Jones Bridge after an uneventful journey from Medlock Bridge.

For those who rented rafts and tubes from local companies, this is usually the end of the line.
