The Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park preserves two Civil War battlefields and is the oldest military park in the National Park system. Separated by just a few miles, the Chickamauga Battlefield is in Georgia, just south of the Tennessee / Georgia border, while sites that make up the Chattanooga unit are scattered about the greater Chattanooga area.
