All tickets for shows at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, be it at the Filene Center or the Theatre-in-the-Woods, are sold through the Wolf Trap Foundation, not the National Park Service. Tickets can be purchased online at www.wolftrap.org, by calling (703) 255-1868 between 10 AM and 9 PM EST seven days a week, or at the box office at the Filene Center. There are service charges when purchasing tickets online or by phone, but none for tickets purchased at the box office. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express cards are accepted for online and phone orders. In addition to credit cards, cash is accepted at the box office.
You may find that when attempting to get tickets that all of the good seats are taken, even if you try to purchase them the second they go on sale. What gives? Wolf Trap has a membership program, and if you are a member you get to buy tickets to shows before everyone else. There are six different donation levels staring at $80, and the higher your level the further in advance you can purchase tickets. Of course, this doesn’t even take into account corporate sponsors that also get priority ticketing. This is why all of the good seats are gone for popular shows before tickets even go on sale to the public. See the Wolf Trap Foundation’s Memberships web page for details.
Shows are held rain or shine. Those who purchase lawn seats can upgrade to covered seating if tickets are available at show time. Otherwise, if it is raining you can sit in the rain or go home and miss the show. The only time tickets are refunded is if a show is cancelled in its entirety and no replacement show is scheduled. See Wolf Trap’s Ticket Policies web page for a complete list of purchase and refund policies.
