The Schuylkill River Trail is a multi-use path that is open to hikers, bikers, and skaters. When it is completed, it will stretch 120 miles from Philadelphia to Frackville, Pennsylvania, with paved and gravel sections. Approximately two paved miles are within Valley Forge National Historical Park. There is a trailhead on the east side of the park at the Betzwood Picnic Area, which is on the north side of the river. There is plenty of parking along Sullivan’s Lane, a quarter-mile long road that runs through Betzwood. The trail exits the park to the west after crossing Pawlings Road.

I biked this short segment of the trail and nothing more, so all I can report is that it is flat and easy. For more information about the Schuylkill River Trail, see the Schuylkill River Greenways website.
