While there are miles and miles of beaches that you can walk on, there are only two official trails in the park, both located on Harkers Island at the park’s Visitor Center. Both are short and considered “nature trails,” which means they won’t appeal to hardcore hikers, but for park nature trails they offer great opportunities to see the waters of Core Sound and catch glimpses of birds and other animals that live on the island.
