The Standing Rock Overlook is an overlook dedicated to a rock. It is not, however, the only such overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway, for farther north is the Boulder Field Overlook. I must say that it does have what it advertises—a standing rock. For a scenic view, walk to the north end of the parking lot and you can see the mountains and a small community in the valley.

You can also look back towards the Blue Ridge Parkway and get a view of a mountain.
