Trails: Mountains to Sea Trail
Picnic Tables: None
Although you can no longer see Scott Creek from the Blue Ridge Parkway—it’s in the heavily forested valley below—you do get a sweeping view of the mountains in the area from the Scott Creek Overlook.
Just up the Blue Ridge Parkway to the left of the parking lot is a trailhead for the Mountains to Sea Trail, a 1,150-mile trail that stretches from Great Smoky Mountains National Park to the North Carolina Outer Banks. It is not part of the National Park system, so I did not hike or review it, but you can get information on the Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail website.
