What’s the world coming to when you can’t even get a good look at Otter Creek from the Otter Creek Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway? If you want to venture to the edge of the weeds and risk losing your balance and falling down a hill into the creek, be my guest, but there’s easier ways to see Otter Creek if you really feel you must. For one of the better views, head south to the Lower Otter Creek Overlook. Or better yet, hike the Otter Creek Trail, a 3.5-mile easy hike from the James River Visitor Center to the Otter Creek Campground. You’ll see enough of Otter Creek to last a lifetime.
