Either by a coincidence of nature or by a National Park Service pruning, a V-shaped gap in the vegetation allows a narrow window of view into Bull Creek Valley. While certainly not worth stopping for, the view is elevated to above ordinary by the presence of homes and farms along the Blue Ridge Parkway. According to a sign in the parking lot, this is the spot where the last buffalo ever seen in the valley was killed in 1799.
There are no trails at this stop, but there is an old, wooden picnic table and a grill. Rarely is there a grill at the scenic overlooks, and most have concrete picnic tables. This must be one of the last old-school holdouts.
